big pink plans
She's all cuddled up on the couch in her pink blankie, clearly dreaming big dreams.
"Mama," she calls. "Mama, I'm so 'cited that my birthday is comin' soon."
Her third birthday is about two months away, but around here, thinking and dreaming about birthday parties is kind of a year-round occupation. And she knows that of the three sisters, her birthday is the nearest.
"And what do you want for your birthday?" I ask her. I'm expecting to hear about a doll, or a toy pony, or maybe even some new shoes. She really likes shoes.
She doesn't hesitate. She knows exactly what she wants. Fixing me with her wide blue eyes, she says:
"I want my hair to be pink. We can dye it, and it will be pink, and all fixed in a pink hairstyle. Pink."
I blink. I'm really not sure what to say to that one.
If this is what she wants at age 3, what in the world will she be asking for when she's 16?

That would be AWESOME. Please be the first mom to dye your three-year-old's hair pink. And then post lots of pictures.

P.S. You could at least get her temporary dye for a day. Or maybe even a pink extension or two? Those come out quickly!
It sounds fun, what about washing it with coolaid, or just giving her some pink strips. Have fun and good luck!!
She told me the same thing last week, except it was pink with curls.

Oh my. She and Bella are two peas in a pod. Bella just aked me for pink hair yesterday. Thankfully she already had her birthday--I have no reason to gratify her wishes! :)
Fortunately, she's at the age where she changes her mind about every 5 minutes...although judging from my mom's comment, it sounds like she's kept the pink hair in mind for a week or more now. If she's still firm about it in May, I'm thinking some clip-on hair is probably the way to go. I'm just not ready to be the mom with the pink-haired 3-year-old.
Oh please dye her hair pink! Maybe some pink hairspray? They have colored hairspray at Sally's Beauty Supply!
